I think I will make an appearance on Sunday just to show you I'm not scared.

Slave, if you leave the 'appearance' till next Sunday, I might consider making an appearance with you. I need to get back on the bicycle again Or maybe... you go show them you are not scared (of Monah etc), and then you have to show me the ropes again around the southern 'flats' the next weekend. Nothing hectic, short & slow should do it!

 

Hopefully nobody has added a few more steps since I've been there?

Hey, the ironless ox has crawled out of the woodwork. How are you buddy? Long time. Nothing to stop me riding this weekend and next. I can only manage one day a weekend at this time though. Still doing a lot of commuting. So I kinda need my weekends to rest and recover. It's been so long since I went up the steps, there's no telling how many more have been added. And if you are looking to go slow, You have found the correct riding partner. Thing is with the stpes, they have been jacking bikes and junk there so there is also no telling how many of the steps are left. Maybe some of them are gone.

 

My averages for commuting to and from work are a dismal 18.2 or thereabouts. A long way off the 30 something avergages of a year ago.

 

So, it will be this Sunday and next Sunday. I look forward to seeing you again mate. It's been a long time. Maybe you should rope our other friend Nancy in and we can have a reunion ride. Maybe get Slow Joe and Delgado interested too. That way the new recruit princess can get to meet a whole bunch of the hubbers. The racing snakes like Kid, Humming bird and Trubie can go off at the speed of sound and the rest of us (Well me at least) can bring up the rear.

Just be careful that bike doesnt suffer any mechanicals....... I read yesterday that Reinhardt JV Rensburg also suffered a SRAM mechanical at Clover Tour.

 

If you do pitch, just come prepared because the okies dont play around like your nose in the air buds from the North

not so ironless anymore though Seems like I've got the iron stuff under control now. I need to get back on the bike, so short and slow should do it for now. An organised ride with a few hubbers sounds like a great idea! It gives the new recruits time to meet the has-beens (and other - more regular riders)

Slave, this weekend I'm probably going to spend some quality time with my MTB. Next Sunday might work, but it's my 12th wedding anniversary so I don't want to assume that he'll be like a normal male and forget. I'll just have to see how the land lies..

 

I'll also see if Joe Low ever wants to ride with me again after I took him to Breedts Nek on the MTB

 

although the mention of smooth tar and skinny tires might work

See, Princess Hannah Montana, Your word is our command. You wanted to meet a few of us crazy hubbers, and we organised a few sane ones for you too. (Actually, on second thoughts....) Well, let's just say some insane and some slight more insane hubbers. You got detectives and serfs, Cattle men, a fatty, a kid and an old fart. What more could you command? Oh, and sloe Jow can be rather droll and dry when the occasion demands. Delgado will probably ride one of his retro bikes that is older than me.

Nance, as part of your anniversary dis-ting, get him to treat you to brekkei at Rietvlei. That way, you won't have far to go for the ride and he won't have too long to wait.
