Ok. Sorry to hear of this little mishap!

Seems Kid is sabotaging everyones tyres/wheels lately! Agteros, you better watch your running shoes.

Btw: what tyres are you using?

Thanks for the heads up Andy. I will NOT take my running shoes down south.

My last ride in the south ('twas in Feb) resulted in punctures, and a lift back to the car. will remember to pack quite a few extra tubes / patches / bombs / pumps for this weekend!

Andy they are Gators. I'm not a great fan of them given that on the Petini, anything over 25km/h wasn't possible without at least one hand on the handle bars and anythng over 30 required both hands on the bars to stop the steering from wobbling badly. I know it was the tyres because when I put Vittorias on, that problem was solved.

I swapped out the tyres a while back because all the mileage looked to be on the back tyre which had a nice flat running surface (Wear pattern). So to even up the wear, I changed them around. I have done at least a couple of months without punctures (had one or two, but nothing unusual). Last couple have been front wheel flats which is perfectly understandable. Keep the front wheel slighty softer for a little bit of relief on the shoulder. The handle bars don't vibrate quite so viciously and transmit that vibration into my collar bone.

Best leave those things at home. We don't want any of them around the souf. Peeps here are dangerous enough with bottles, flick knives and chains. We don't want them getting their grubbies on explosive devices as well.

And you better pray that the CIA and Osama are not reading this thread. They might blow you up over Rabie street. :P

Something is very suspicious then. My ride in the south didn't happen because of wheel trouble. There seems to be too much for co-incidences. I suspect Kid is behind it all! ;)

Well Slave, your first sentence is your answer! Normally I would say go with the Attack/Force system but since you don't race get the Vittoria's back.

I know that the Gatorskins had trouble downn souff last I was there, so I guess I'll have to put the Mountain Kings on my road bike. what a mission! Not going to take the Racing Ralphs off the shelf as I'm sure they will not be up to Kid and his tricks :(

Slave -come past my place when you have time, I have tyres.

too bad, these days happen

my record is 5 tubes on 1 ride

I don't think it's fair you pass on those cr@p tyres you using!!!!

You & your northern friend seem to be having lots of wheel/tyre problems.

I'm using seriously warn Gators and they still going strong.

I've actually donated them to somebody who is in great need of tyres but I'm waiting for a certain individual to provide me with some "test" tyres.

Well Ha Ha's Zip 202's couldn't even stand up to Kid's tricks. He totally destroyed them! And 2km from a point Ha Ha told Kid before the race he was going to attack the bunch and wanted Kid to join him. Looks more and more suspicious!

Trubie, you carried five tubes on that ride? Were they Gators?

The one's I have for Slave is Gators - proper tyres..........

Yes, I know the rubbish I am using (based on my friend's advice :()is not something to pass on.

I am only passing it on to him, as soon as I see the eft in my account

As wicked as the Kid may be, I somehow doubt he was behind my wheel troubles. I know he's like small, but not that small that he can sneak up on me unseen and create the kind of destruction he is often accused of. A henchman of note maybe, but a destructive child.... I am not convinced. You will have to provide more facts councilor. The jury is not entirely convinced of your case. ;)

And it wasn't even in the south that the problems occured. It was north of JHB central. :P So technically, it happened in the north.

Oxman. Last year I went through a stage of doing just over 2000 km (Yes, two thousand) without one single puncture. And they were mostly in the south if not all of them. (The Km that is).

But I kind of agree with you. Running shooz are expensive. You wouldn't want to risk a blowout on them. :P

I suppose if one compares the price of running shooz to bike tyres, the tyres are relatively cheap. Running shooz (a good pair) gor for like a grand IMS. And you can do like a max of 1500 km before they are poked.

A set of bike tyres are about the same and you can maybe get 5000 on the before they are poked.

Still can't get my head into the comparison with car tyres though.Bike tyres cost more than my car tyres and my car tyres do like 70 or 80 thousand.

Methinks someone is making some very serious money on bike tyres and running shooz.

I wish I got tyres for free, got a friend who rants & raves about the tyres he buys so we've come to an agreement that I'll do a test on those tyres.

It's just taking a while to get the tyres from him due to various reasons but the day will come.

I also use Gators for training, for racing I use GP4000's.

oohh what are the reasons? I like a good skinner! ;)

The main reason is that he forgets, he's young and has lots of stuff on his mind - maybe he's also on that Tequila diet ??

I'll introduce you to him at some stage ;) ;) ;)
