Yes, I did about 2:40. I could've gone faster it the bunch wasn't on a go slow on the M1. Rode on the front of the group for quite a way, especially from the last climb on N14 to make up time.

You will do well in the 94.7, use the parcours to help you.

It was frustrating. My preparation was good and I felt good but that is how bike racing is. Got to live with it and try for a better time this year.

As they say, "Aim for the impossible and you will get the maximum."

As the Princess pointed out Andy - you are just so humble :)

Faster time? You do know the route is 4 k's longer hey, and you do know that the Spaz is much slower than the Trek?

Gonna be interesting to watch how this pans out.......... hope you meet your goal

so andy will be riding a pinarello next year?

Slave, you did a 3-14 for the 94.7? i wish i could get within an hour of that time. so which of you was the quickest?

andy or trubie or kiddy?

When reading this thread, and whenever doubt occurs as to whether to laugh, cry or get  Try  Life is just too short to be serious all the time. It is never too late to have a happy childhood, or so I was told.

You like your bike, that's all that matters. Why worry about what other peeps think anyway? It's a sure way to go through life being :( It's ok to dream and have aspirations for better stuff as long as you are happy with what you have right now. Everything else is irrelevant.

PH, it took me a lot of training to get to that 3hr14. The aim was 3 so technically, I missed it, but after I looked at the result in context, I was rather :D Not bad for an old fart. There was also a lot of help from Trubie, Greyowl and several other hubbers.

I think Andy was the fastest. He has youth on his side. Trubie is a very experienced cyclist (read as and almost old fart. Me, I'm just experienced but not as a cyclist. Read as definite old fart, having a late life crisis playing with toys / bicycles.) I really should be playing bowls but Kid von't sign ze papers. There is a definite conspiracy here because every time I mention bowls (old man's marbles) there is one heck of a reaction.

Dudes, I have news for you. Next year, I am over 21 so I won't need your permission. Bowls on a Saturday Afternoon sounds like a cool way to pass a day. :P As long as I don't drop the wood on my foot, it will all be ok.

Listen Up now. It is Thursday. We are riding on Sunday. We need to make final arrangments.

Hannah, you ride with your legs so you won't be needing that wrist. Ox is unfit and Nance is joining us (I think. Aren't bike rides with mates more important than anniversaries anyway???)'Sides,it will only be for about an hour and a half to 2 hours. So the pace will be nice and moderate. The racing snake (al la Trubes) is in the flower fountain so he's excused.

We meet at Xumbugs at say 06h50 and go for a nice sedate run around the short loop. Hannah, no tequila on Saturday and bring your dad along to chaperone you.

Who's in, whose out?

I wants in, but need an extra bit of cycle time... If I cannot organise another loop (time wise), I might have to go play with the lab rats in the cradle on Saturday(80km: 2.5 - 3 hrs), and rather join the running club for their long run on Sunday - I need a 15k run for the weekend as well
