Hmm so the hub discriminate against me.... I tried to edit the post, but got a "You do not have permission" error. Posted a new post with the correction, and now that is gone....

Should have been "drawing pins", like stuff there in the Cradle

Ahh, a lot easier to carry than drawing rooms. :) Great idea ox man. Glad you reminded me of it.

Abuse and water bombs might still be a bit of fun, but thum tacks are just downright destructive.

Last time I was a roadside spectator,I actually helped a chap fix two tubes and got him back on the road again. Hopefully he managed to finish the race. He even offered me money which I refused.

I may just offer my services again, but I would never put thumb tacks down to increase the business end of it.

Maybe someone needs some help at a water point and would like to enlist my assistance. I would be only too happy to give something back.

There is a 100meters just before Catherine with an average incline of 15.4%, peaking at 21% ;) All of this according to Google Earth

You really need to help me get all this information I am unable to get from GE (google earth.) I have the software on my PC but am not sure where you get your info from.

Andy, it is in Hillbrow. Not the nicest place to be. It was so hard, I had to stand and ride all the way, and even had to resort to going from one side of the road to the other, (zig-zag)just to get to the top. It is probably one of the toughest hills in JHB.

Short and very steep.

Help me out... what does 'boslkr' mean?

I traced Nugget street in Mapsource, then viewed the route in Google Earth where the profile of the route can be viewed (by right clicking on it in the left had pane).

You can mark sections, and get averages, as well as get stats for a specific point.

But please, what does 'boslkr' mean?

oooh... and I've been told to do the 94.7 on the road bike

Thought you were going to run the 94.7 route ?

Now you planning to do it on a road bike - that just seems wrong, you a runner after all.

I have no idea what t means or where it came from. (EDIT; Check out post number 7124. It is what you typed in your post. End Edit.)

Er, Oxman, that is perhaps a wise choice. Unless of course you are doing the 94.7 MTB challenge......

Would you ride your road bike on an MTB route?

 Not a chance to run that far... Not even thinking of doing a 42.2km running marathon, nevermind the Comrades (88km), what to say 95-97km?

Will find out on Thursday where they slot me in... XX/YY/ZZ any predictions? Last years 94.7 I got a 64.9 seeding!

Well I'm thinking that if you played your ride properly could might even win a prize for the most improved rider from 2009 to 2010.

How many hours are you planning on beating your time from last year ?

Maybe it was some or other gremlin that attacked my keyboard when I hit "submit". ;)

MTB never featured! It was between the road bike and a delivery bike... Will leave the delivery bike for next year then ;) Will give me time to do a proper job blinging it up

Not sure, but this year I'll be quite a few hours faster than last! LOL

Maybe in the few years , when I have a pre 7am seeded start, I'll try and aim for a 15:30/16:00 finish. Could be the slowest EVER for ANYBODY, but before that I first want to do a double lapper

Ah, so you are going to have your "Humber" chromed and all shiny for next years 94.7?

You manage to find one? Why have it chromed, they were orginally made in black. Only the post office peeps had them in red.

But you need to have the proper basket on the front, complete with carboard box and all, ne?

(Or do you secretly have a Honda CD 200 stashed away somewhere?) Do they still have those delivery bike races at Kyalami for those things? Used to be great fun watching them hurtle down the straigh and only about 10 of the 50 made it through Crowthorne.

Or is the lack of oxygen from all this serious running??

Nice meeting you this morning Saint.

Would love to know where that name comes from, that grin on yr face does tell me theat yr not a Saint? :)

Hey Dude great chatting to you on Saturday morning. The Saint comes from a Saint Tattoo which my late dad had on his arm. You will find a picture of the Saint on my bike - it is a memorial thing of remembrance for a fantastic father. I don't do tattoos so the next best thing was my bike and my nickname :)

As for the ride on Saturday we gave them horns to past Bosco - 60km's per hour of good hard riding, ended up with 105km's at exactly at 35 ave.

I think Gavin and I are ready for Sunday

@ Saint,

Glad to hear you guys are ready.

I saw you guys at the start but you were chatting away and then you flew past me.

So I couldn't say "Hi".

I know Gavin, done a few transactions with him. Thought that he was rowing these days ?
