I am sure you can understand that the we cannot look after everyone and tend to stay with the bigger bunches. It is maybe adviseable to take down our telephone numbers before the ride, should you experience any problems, we are not that far away and the mayority of us have a GPS, so we can get to you quickly.

Please let us know should you amend / change the route in any way.

@Jasper

Nice to see you guys are getting organized.

Keep up the brilliant work.

+1 :clap:

@Agteros

You need to catch me, I'll only be 4min ahead.

Or a very long tow-rope. :P

Oxman,I know you've done like a fair bit of running as part of your Olympic Duathlon bid, but like do you really think you are fit enough for this? :unsure:

Tell you what, you come by my place and fetch me, and I'll be your lead out man and ride the pace you need. (Is this allowed? Is it legal?)

Oh and weather man is predicting rain for Sunday. :(

Slaveman, In the lead up (the two months since I started exercising again) to my first 94.7 (2008) I cycled 350km and ran 2x per week (track sessions, where I was so unfit that I could not even do a proper warmup and cooldown - as it was too far to run). Guesstimate is that it equates to 8-10km per week. This after 18 years as a couch potato.

The last 30 days I cycled 15 hours (450km - mostly IDT), and ran 243km (24 hours) ...

the last 60 das I cycled 460km (18.5 hours) and ran 466km (46hours)

So.. whether I'm fit enough for this? dunno what 'this' is :huh: But I'm fitter than when I rode my 3:13, and healthier than when I rode my 6:22 in 2009

By "this" I meant the little tour de Egoli on Sunday 21 November.

You are quite an amazing charater Oxman. With very little training, you accomplish stuff that I have to bust my butt to achieve. :(

I imagine that if you did a lot of training, you might do well in the TDF. :P ;)

No!!!! Stop the tour de Alphabet... We busy with the Tour de E, now you sommer move on to the Tour de F :clap:

And remember it is better to be undertrained than to be overtrained ;) Although I've put in plenty of training hours over the last few months (since beginning of September) - 85.5 hours of it (mostly running)

I have volunteered my services to be a body at a watering point / aid station.

Not sure which one I will be at but I have to be at the Momentum offices in Parktown at 03h45 on Sunday morning.

Who is ridning in what groups so I know roughly who to look out for when. Oxman is in E and Kid is in D.

Andy, you with the elites this year or just with the rest of the A plus students?

Trubie, you VC or A?

I have decided to not spoil the elite party this year. Thought I would let the poor guys fight it out for themselves. :lol:
