That would be enough reason to get another colour but it seems that we all starting to ride white bikes.

Are whites bikes faster ?

White is suppose to be a sensible colour on cars, does not show dirt as easily as darker colours :P Now I will only need to dust off my bike every quarter, and not every week!

Is this a good example of an oxymoron. No, Ox, not calling you a moron, but like what is there about cycling that is sensible? So why have a sensible colour bike?

Just doesn't work in my head. (But then I guess, few things ever do.) :(

I mean motorists can't see us in bright coloured lycr. WTF diffs will it make if the bike is white or black? So apart from keeping the bike "virtually" clean (as in looks clean but isn't really) what does a practical colour do?

Bike should look zooty. :P

A tribike should be zooty :D

A road bike is just an implement of training / torture, so should be practical and economical

  FOFLMFAO dude.

Ahh Andy, clearly you missed a trick or two somewhere. Councilor, you realy need to take notes when the defence is on the stand and giving evidence.

I clearly recall saying I am resting today, tomorrow and Monday. That gives me 180 km to play around with. So if I do 40 on Saturday and 100 with you loons on Sunday, I still have an extra 40 km that I don't have to ride. Oh, and Wed I have a meeting that I can't cycle to, so there's another 60 km to play around with.

Plus, I am going to get a vit B shot sometime today. For lunch I have a loaf of bread and a big helping of my special macaroni cheese. (No added spanish steak though. Just a bit of bacon and some really tasty herbs.)

My suggestion for the weekend Andy is this: We do the first half of the short Nampak loop, turn right where the okies turned right last time (instead of going up the steps), then we follow the Fast one route as far as Henley, then we head back towards Rietvlei. I need some time to adjust the mind to those last two climbs in SBR. Right now, I'm just not knocked out on doing anything inside SBR. Of course, we can always wait at the gate while you go off and do them by yourself.

When we hit the outskirts of SBR, we'll release the homing pidgeon with Hummy's toasted cheese order so that it's ready when we get back there. I know the service there is like really poor, but it's such a lekker place to just park off and chill. Compared to the Steers at the petroport on the N14, the service at Rietvlei is stellar. :D

They managed to cock up my brekkie order for an hour and they still didn't get it right..... Dumbasses. In the end, I just took a far more expensive brekkie and ate that before I had to rush to man the water table. Frikking idjits. I almost missed the elites because of them. :(

That is new evidence! Hehe. How long is that suggestion? What does Hummy say?

Thinking of getting this nice and cheap, and answers yes to all the questions I ask

No wonder it is so cheap! Just joking Agteros!

What does a R...... a Ra...... a white frame go for? The price Ha-Ha quoted me on the Italian job (Frame only) sounded reasonable. It was just short of the price of a whole R.... R..... Ra..... white bike. (Seriuosly just kidding here dudes. The Bott was a good price.)

So like what happened to Andy?

Was it something I said or maybe my new deo?? Have he and HRH secretly gone on that wheel shopping spree / date thing?

Maybe he's like getting over the shock of me not wanting to venture into the SBR.

I plan to go there some day real soon, but it will be on foot with binocs because I want to spend a day there bird watching. :)

I had to go to Private Bank.

White bikes with SRAM are the fastest of all! Look at the 94.7! Hehe.

*PH, there is a widespread joke that Raleighs are not too good. They are just another manufacturer of frames. My first bike (only raced for a year on it) was a Raleigh with Tiagra and then I upgraded to my Trek with Ultegra. My Raleigh is currently on my IDT.

Nope, you spend a lot of time on it. You best love what it looks and feels like.

I spend as much time in my running shoes, and I do not see a reason to 'love' them :) I appreciate my tools of torture more than what they appreciate me ;)

The beauty of a bike is that you spend time on top / wrapped around it, so you do not have time to keep on looking at it, better watch that wheel in front / for water bottles & potholes!

As long as the thing lasts and lasts and lasts...

Going to spend the next year to try and get a better seeding than the 28 they allocated me for the past 94.7, and then use that to pedal a delivery bike around the 94.7. Current goal is to do it in less than 4 hours  The year after that I want to set the slowest time possible on the 94.7. Currently aiming for at least 10 hours

Andy, it does seem like white bikes make you deaf though... You never heard me shouting out at you when you entered the fenced area at the 94.7 start :( Or was it that the lady you were chatting to occupied all your attention?

Fixed it.

My apologies Agteros, I was just chatting to my friend. She also runs a fair amount. Been friends for years. She is the cousin of a well known SA model. ;)

Get that new bike. If it is a good deal then why not. Then come test it in the TT and loop on Sunday! :D

The route I'm easy we just need to come to some kind of decision so that I know how much food to take with me as we'll probably end up at Rietvlei for Lunch

Plan for a 6 hour - 200km ride as BigS needs 6 hours training for the 24 hour and Agteros needs training for his 200km ride!

Is it Rietvlei or Mugg & Bean? Both have been mentioned. You guys organise a route as long as it is longer than 70km and has at least one decent hill please!!!!

Then you got to do the Bosco Loop, the loop that Slave mentioned is rather flat.

You can have fun on the Lido hill and after that there are a few small climbs.
