Os

I also wanna do this duathlon thing.

Where can I find the fixture list?

It's on duathlon.co.za.

There is also going to be a JHB series, apparently it's in Benoni somewhere.

Nancy' date=' you want even break a sweat.

Put it this way, if GreyOwl had to do it alone it would probably take him

1hr 45min, the last time I done this route with Slavey it took us 4hrs and we piggy backed on the R4S groups.

So it will probably take us 4hrs but Nuwbie is fast and Oxman has also been doing 'top secret training' so he's just as fast or even faster.

Indigo Kid, whot u know bout my training that I don't? smiley36.gifsmiley36.gif What do I need to do to reap the benefits from this alledged top secret training I am doing...?

I just NEED to learn to ave about 35km/h solo... got klapped in the duathlon yesterday smiley18.gif managed 30km/h mostly solo but it was not fast enough....

I'll see you ppls on Sunday morning, and will endevour to try to do my best to keep the crazy stuff for the last half of the ride (back to Alberton) smiley36.gif

Don't tell anybody, but I might, JUST MIGHT, get a secret training gadget this week smiley9.gif coz I need to slash +-15 minutes off my Duathlon time smiley3.gif

Os, do tell us.

15 min off your Duathlon time is more like an avg speed of 50km/h, unless you plan to cycle the whole event ?

You know the last time we rode you sent me the link for the eye up in the sky, now I can see when you doing secrect training, where, speed, etc...SSHHH

By the way mine also works, no need for an upgrade. It's very lekker.

Ssee my Duathlon time (5km run, 30km cycle, 2.5km run is HECTICALLY slow)

I managed a 1H48 yesterday, which was a 29:16 run, 55:?? cycle, and a 18:?? run(with calve cramps)

So, if I can do the runs at 5 min/km (25+12.5- even 25+15) and the cycle at 35km/h = 51 mins, gives me 91 minutes, and a bit a change for the transition area to get to 1H35

The eye in the sky got replaced by another one smiley2.gif http://connect.garmin.com/activity/2828088

Os. Five minutes per k is slow.

It's  been a loooooooong time since I last ran, but I used to be able to manage 4 to 4 min 30 per k without too much push.

You are a strong rider, you just lack the endurance / stamina. The only thing that can help you is more traiining. (Yeah, I know 'bout little ox and time constraints.)

I would have thought, given your cycle ability, that you could go faster on the road run.

Any idea why you battling?

Nice new toy.

I ALSO WANT ONE !!!!!!!smiley19.gifsmiley19.gifsmiley19.gif

One of the IronMan dudes at gym told me once that when you from bike to running you should start off with small steps, until your muscles get used to it.

For running tips speak to Nuwbie, I'm sure he would share a few with you.

So does this mean you'll be running to Heidelberg on Sunday ?

And by the way don't listen to Slavey, he done 4km this weekend alternatively challange him to come and do a duathlon with you smiley32.gifsmiley32.gif

Kid, I used to run.

Ran some resonable marathons although I did far better at being able to tand after a half marathon.

Best time was a 3 hr 40 min standard marathon (Comrades qulaifier.) That's just a shade off Silver medal time.

DON'T ask about comrades dude. I fininshed, but in a very unrepectable time. One of the things I prefer to forget about.

Running is tough dude. But 5 minute ks is stilll slow. You couldn't even catch a cold at that speed.

I have hung up my running shooz, dude. Long, long time ago.

Not a toy, but my running partner / somebodything to pace me on my trianing runs, can't afford to keep on doing 1km splits of 4:38, 4:58, 5:43, 6:29, 5:25 smiley9.gif Need to get them more constant.

Despite the big hoohaa about the fishy sellers, I got this on the hub, and was offered the chance to first check whether I like it before paying... Soi it was shipped to me in good faith, which I intend honouring!!!

If I do not... somebody lend me a shot gun and a body bag (for myself)

Very true, 5m/km is s-l-o-w. I'm still in the category of the old ladies and the pre-teen kideos. Dunno about the cold at the speed, the virus might just overtake you to go look for a better host/specimen

problem is Ox, that viruses travel very quickly. The speed of a sneeze is quite remarkable.

Anyway, off for an interview. Chat later.

BTW.

I'm back. After my few days rest, I had a lekker ride yesterday arvie.

Same 47 k loop, up butchers, Columbine ave, Lido hill and home.

New personal best time of 1hr 32 min. A few months ago, I was kinda happy with 1 hr 50 and then overjoyed with 1hr 40. Now looks like I need to reset the benchmark and aim for 1 hr 30.

Kid, I know you gonna have some hilarious remark. Put your money where your mouth is and come race me over this route.

That secret training is starting to work. Thanks GOv2.0.
