Thought you'd be doing the Carnival race.

Duathlons first. Had to do Emperors to keep the seeding going.

Hey guys and gals. Hope you all had a good racing weekend. Much as I wanted to go for a long ride yesterday A) I felt I needed the rest and B), I only got home at like 1h30 on Sunday morning, so getting up at the crack of dawn was like just never going to happen.

Nope, no drinking (other than coffee). I went to see an old friend I haven't seem for like over 10 years on Saturday and there was so much to catch up on that we just yakked and yakked. :)

Good result with your race there Trues. A very impressive time indeed.

Have a great day / week and be safe out there.

Hey Ox, what run did you do yesterday?

Hey, Trubie is a really BID guy and he wants to bring his pump with.

Can't think why he needs to bring his pump with. You have so much hot air you need to be deflated. :P

The flat section of the club long training run as I had a self imposed curfew to meet. Managed 15km in a leisurely 1H30

da pump, she's for da spokes

whenever we at 35+ on Alewynspoort, a little reminder of some comments of last 2 days and a pump in da spokes, should set the record straight :)

Now I'm even more confused.

You saying that I ride at 35km/h and it's way too SLOW for you & I'm holding you up ?

Excellent!

Thats a brilliant result!

Well done. well done to everyone that rode!

Thanks PH!

Just step up to the plate Indigo Kid! You are there, just take that last step and say 'PRESENT!'

I agree! When I started riding in A in 2004 I hung on for as long as possible before getting dropped and riding from there. Then I stayed in the bunch. Now, since about Carousel last year I have been getting involved in the work at the front and going with a few moves/breaks/attacks. You can't expected to suddenly ride in A and go do attacks. The only way to get better riding in A and keep up is to ride in A. Sure, you will get dropped but soon you will manage to stay with them.

results are out and A bunch time even faster than Cat 2

Apologies ,I see on the results the Cats were made up according to seeding today and not age groups.

That is fast then! But quite a few Cat 2 riders used to ride in A last year.

I hope Kid is happy with my position in the bunch this race unlike the Fast One.

And no cat 4 results....

Wie nie ore het nie moet voel?

Serves them right. Commissaire asked them to get back and they didn't.

Not sure if you guys realise that quite a few of us in Cat4 did drop back and then continued racing once there was a gap. We actually went to protest and to ask that the entire group be DQ'd as there could not have been a fair result.

The mistake was combining the A bunch with tandems as the speed was very fast especially on that fast downhill drag to Alberton, this meant that the combined bunch caught us very early in the race when both bunches were still huge. The front of the Cat4 bunch consisted mostly of what was previously the vets 50-59 Vets group. We initially sat up when passed by A bunch/tandems but then Cat4 guys came from the back of our bunch and jumped on and we eventually had no choice but to go with them. The difference was that when later asked to drop back by the marshall quite a few of us did but some selfish riders didn't which led to the disqualification.

I was very dissapointed as I was feeling strong and had actually been out on a 10km solo break for the 10km before Rondebult so was looking forward to a good race.

Pity and a real bummer for the people in Cat 4.

Don't you think that this is going to be a continuous problem ?

Yesterday the winning time for A bunch was faster that the winning time for Cat 2.

Personally I doubt the A bunch will catch Cat 2 but they definitely going to catch Cat 4.

Ian, good to hear the story from the other side. I agree DQ'ing those who played by the rules is a bit heavy handed. Can you still petition the decision?
