Ya, great weekend to all. BTW - I need to move my SBR ride to Sunday 6th.... My fatherly duties are calling louder than my cycling needs... Mommy off to varsity in Pta on sat, kids gotta be everywhere :( So Sunday it will have to be.

I have been secretly hoping that you would see reason and ride on 6th. I will try and be there if I can get over the bronchi dis-ting. Will be a slow ride for me though. Sort of thinking of riding there. doing a lap and then riding home again. Should give me around 140 km's. With plenty of ascent.

mouth is healing great thanks. Chin still swollen quite a bit, bit hole has healed well thus far.

So Carnival today was final warm-up of showdown before the A in 2 weeks time. What a great day for riding a bike. Some wind, not too hot, somewhat cloudy. Almost perfect! They decided to start AL before cat 3 today, 10 mins after cat 2. Good call I would say

My plan was to have a decent start, get to Heidelberg and then start pushing myself as hard I can to the finish. Well today was just one of those days where I loved it cause the plan came together exactly as planned. Ok, I wasnt planning on being so tired at the end :(, but hey who who complains about that anyway?

Not sure how much the bunch thinned out over the second half of the race, but we had some fun up front (Andy and myself that is). Finished in 2:30.... another 40+ ave, so I doubt there is anything more I can do prep wise for the 13th. Happiness , well organised race, lotsa work on the potholes along the way. Big up to Frosty and his team for a well run race - very professional with no hicups that I am ware off. Shows you - if care is taken with the small matters that make a huge diffs, the result will be positive. The 80/20 principle well applied!!

Njoy the week dudes and dudesses

I think the winning time for the 103km was around 2:20 odd.

Kid, they will use it for seeding but will probably adjust it a bit when they do the weighting etc.

Trubie, what happened to the bunch up the two informal settlement climbs. The one (Esmero I think) rider pulled off and then I did the pacing. After the race I was told that the bunch was splitting and that I had a bit of a gap at one part of the climb. What was going on behind me. From the results it seems like a few people possibly got caught out on those climbs.

One thing I did notice was that the bunch didn't hammer it up the drags like they did in Berge en dale, especially on the Maropeng section.

Congrats, you rode very well today Trubie! Your Argus is going to be low level flying!

Some of us are still kicking at the bucket and it hasn't fallen over yet.

Edit: Also not doing any secret training. Still barking like a dog and battling with a head cold.

Don't think it would be smart to go to SBR on Sunday and try and keep up with the master racing snake AKA Trubie.

I have been off the bike for alomost a week now and I am not impressed.

Well Slave, don't kick it too hard as we don't want it to actually fall over!

Hope you get well soon!

 Andy. Still battling. Nose has been running so much it must be able to do a half marathon all on it's lonesome. Also still coughing, but I feel Ok. Not going to take any chances though. Will stay off it for another few days and see. It is now two weeks since I last rode. :(

Safe ride at SBR on Sunday. I had plans to join you but I haven't fully recovered yet and still drowning in mucous. :( So I will have to give this one a miss.

Have a good weekend all.
