Thug Posted January 15, 2007 Share Did Breedtsnek as a LSD training ride this weekend. Total Distance: 61.2 km's Total Ascent: 920 m Average Speed: 19.5 kph Man that hill on the way back from the shop is one long and steep bugger and to think that I had a couple of mates who did it twice

Guest Big H Posted January 15, 2007 Share O ja I know.... gravel road crossing Magalliesberg from Maanhaarrand to Buffelspoort dam!!!!! Tough one that. I once saw dassies, black eagle, klipspringer and "vaalribbok" on that road.

_BBi Posted January 15, 2007 Share Between Magaliesburg and Rustenburg (Maanhaarrant). It is a favorate training ride of mine. I stay about 20km from there. The best thing is that it carries very few cars. Some Sunday mornings I encounter no trafic at all. Most people park there cars at a shop close to Hekpoort store (canot remember the name), then it is about a 60km ride there and back. Guest Big H Posted January 15, 2007 Share Thanx. The road is nowhere near Hekpoort.... same area though. You start at Maanhaarrand (15km from Magalliesburg on the R24), turn right off the R 24 and start climbing towards the North. towards the R104 (old N4)

Thug Posted January 16, 2007 Share Here are some images from GE 1st: The climb facing you after approx 22k's of gradual ascent. The top of the climb is 25k's after starting from the garage. The 2nd: The downhill to the shop at the T-Junction is all of 5k's which one climbs again on the return journey.
AndreZA Posted January 16, 2007 Share Dit lyk lekker. Sou lekkerder gewees het as daar 'n paar bulte tussen in was.
