BIKE SHOPS

I have decided to take up cycling and do triathlons, I am a runner and have done Comrades.   I was in Stellenbosch and went to BMT through a recommendation, what a great shop.  I received really good service from Lisa Baumann, she has great product knowledge and understanding of all three sports.  She helped me choose a bike, kit me out and gave me an achievable training plan.  I didn't once feel intimidated by the cycling jargon and will continue to support and recommend BMT to anyone who wants to get into the sport of cycling, triathlon or running.  Since then I have completed the 94.7 cycle challenge,  a  BSG Energade Triathlon as well as entering the Johannesburg City Triathlon Series and the Ironman 70.3 (half Ironman).  I can't wait until they open up more shops and I'm sure they will go from strength to strength.

Glad you got sorted, but I don't think Lisa is the most knowledgable cyclist out there. Spoke to here recently and she couldn't make me any wiser and I've got a long way to go.

GEEGEE you're going to have a tough time supporting them all the way from Joburg if even people IN Stellenbosch complain that the place it too out of the way and much of a mission to get to.

as with any new business venture... there will be hickups and questionable service. Nobody plans anything ever to 100%. So a shop starting out will have its critics. But this is just getting ridiculous! there was the first post, which adviced the shop to get their act in order, which is right. Hopefully the person did that. But now all of a sudden all these recommendations... get real people and give credit where (and when) its due!
