I have a Toupe on my road bike and it's awesome, I put one on my Carbon HT and it's a little rough and I get chafed... just not enough padding I think!

good luck with kcnc.... THEY BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice to get your bke uber lite but risky. ask adriaan louw (top junior xc rider) he will confess. get tompson, it is extra tough and is only a few grams heavier

and get a stylo crank, claimed weight only 80g heavier than the nior.

Ps. do not get the kcnc or airezine BBs they are made with bling in mind not purposly built. they last 1000kms tops

Congrats STM!

Of course I know it's for free but in my opinion the Commencal looked nicer.

Enjoy the build

i would stay far far away from kcnc stem and handlebars. ?

my mountainbike stem cracked through one on the bolt mounting points and the bars had big indentations in them where the stem clamped and also the bar ends joined. they had never been overtightened and were an accident just waiting to happen. ?if you do use, be sure to check regularly

hmmm never heard that before but thanks everyone.

I can get the follwing stuff:

thomson

KCNC

aerozine

I see candice neethling uses an aerozine crank and hers looks fine though and also consider im only 55kgs hey.

I dont like the thomson stems, will probly just keep my WCS then and EC90 bars but still wanting that KCNC seatpost, will think about thomson as well.

Racman - I agree the commencal was an uber cool looking bike, nothing else like it anywhere but i still think this new bike will look better once completed.

No Calves - im looking at the different cranks, im using an aerozine BB as i was given 1 brand new in the box, will change when it breaks. How much do the stylos cost?

Got the wheels yesterday, put the tubeless kenda karmas on them and disc rotors(alligator windcutter 160mm) and KCNC skewers (blue) They are super light!!!!!! just waiting for my sram pg990 cassette to arive now at the LBS. Frame didnt arive yesterday, hopefully today.

I set the commencal up to be a lightweight XC bike, this will also be used as a marathon bike so have to change a few things. BUT - This should be almost a full KG lighter then the commencal i had/have.

If budget allows, might go for a DT swiss fork as well (always wanted 1 of those)

STM do not go for that fork i have heard nothing but complaints about DT forks rather go for a sid or a reba for that sort of cash

had very bad experience with Reba SL, probly wont bother upgrading the fork, this 1 is perfect for now anyway.

The Reba SL i used for Sabie blew in the 1st 5kms of the race... what a disaster
