There's this clicking sound on my Easton Circuit wheels, that I can't seem to sort out. if the bike is not ridden, say I do a week mtb, it stops, but reapears after a day or two The sound is the loudest when I climb. I already replaced the the freewheel bearings. the wheel bearings seem fine. Any advice?

first two things i would check are pedals and headset check your play on your pedal axles and then if they are not moving check if your headset is tight enough

How much did you tighten it? Like very tight. I replaced the pedals, serviced the deadset bearing. It's definately the wheels. When I put other wheels on it stops.

OK, so you have determined it is the wheels.

Now determine if it is the bearings. Take the offending wheel off the bike, hold it by the QR lever and spin the wheel. The bearings should feel buttery smooth. If it produces an occasional little jerk, say every second revolution, you have a faulty ball in the bearing. Replace the bearing.

If it is perpetually rough, the entire bearing is kaput. Replace.

If it all comes out clear, the problem is at the spoke/rim interface. I can't picture the wheel now but one of the nipples has a bit of rust or dirt under it. Squirt some Q20 on the spoke you think it could be (or the whole lot if you don't mind an unholy mess) and go for a ride. If the click disappeared, we know where to look. The Q20 will wear off after a few rides or the first wash.
