I took my bike to Cycle Lab Jhb to get the shocks looked at because they are completely hard.  They said that there is nothing they can do and i must buy new ones. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

is there anywhere i can get them fixed?

or must i bite the bullet and get new ones?

That depends on what model it is. If it's an elastomer, you probably will have to replace the fork cos they don't make replacement elastomers anymore, and once they've gone hard there's nothing you can do about it AFAIK.

But then again, someone else may have a way to work around this...

You can try post a topic on wanted?

You can also try go to a older bike shop, Bike shops should still have elastomers, they are not that old, forks still came out with them 5 years ago.

Try Bowmons in town, they should have plenty from old forks. Shane is always very helpfull.

I also have some in a bag somewere that were made for Manitou xverts and My old RST MOZO'S

Problem is some forka have no rebound dampners so once the elastomers are replaced by springs the fork tops out a bit.
