Big%20smileBig%20smileStarHi guys, i just wanted to let you know that good service still exists. I cracked my raleigh carbon frame a month after taking delivery of the bike, i was a little scared thinking it is going to take months for a replacement frame.......hell was i sooooo wrong.

I took the bike back to hattons cycles in pinetown and the owner promised a new frame within a week ...hahahahahahaha...well so i thought, true to his word a week later my  bike was ready for collection, what makes this so special is that the new frame is the new 2009 colours.

Great service hattons.

I believe that such service deserves recognition.Clap

sorry for hijacking a compliment to hattons ... but reading this, i simply had to add my experience with linden cycles recently

The Monday before Sabie Xperience my bike was in the bikeshop because there wa something wrong with the brakes. Later the monday the bikeshop phoned, saying that they'll have to send the brakes to PE to fix.

"when will it be back?" was the natural question.

Friday, they said.

Friday was too late - we wre leaving for SabieXperience during lunchtime that friday, and what if the brakes were not ready?

One option was to buy a new set of brakes. About 2k later for what i had, or a generic set (almost like what i had) for something over 1k.

A little more than what i budgeted for, but there was nothing else i could do ... a while later Mike from Linden cycles phoned. He fitted his OWN bike's brakes on my well-abused bicycle; I can use it for Sabie, and after the weekend mine should be back form PE and we can swap brakes again.

- Mike didn't know me from anywhere;

- I use dunkeld, linden and mike's bikes, so i'm not even a regular visitor so that he would recognise me or my bike.

- like shawn, i'm a 'bikeplodder'

- He only had my telephone number, and no guarantees that i would bring my bike (with his brakes) back after the weekend.

if i ever replace the well-abused bicycle, i'll know where to go Smile

this is awesome news and good on you guys for givin the recognition to these shops. this is better advertising for them than thousands of rands on generic campaigns. im sure they appreciate it.

I had a similar experience from Eben at West Rand Cycles who lent me a rear shock while mine was sent away for repairs.I live in Pretoria and Eben doesn't have my address or any idea where to find me, only my cellphone number.

Eben is a StarStarStarStar!!!!!!!!! I have dealt with him a lot. He goes the extra mile......... even sometimes at his own expense.
