Did anyone else see the dumb@ss riding north in the yellow lane or the N3 south this morning? I saw him at about 6h50 near  the new Pick n Pay DC in Marlboro. I think a cop had spotted him and was reversing up the highway to apprehend the tjop.

I saw a guy dressed in a security guard uniform riding his MTB on the right hand side (fast lane!!) yellow lane of the N3 north, on sunday afternoon! It was around 14h30 and was betwen the Linskfield and the Modderfontein offramps! Angry

I almost got "trapped " by a guy comming up the wrong side of kloofnek just below Raffikis, I never look left and right (cause its a one way) and as I walk there almost everyday (the beer is at raffikis) I just walked without looking for cars going the wrong way. so this oke in a gray polo almost runs me down, jumps on the hooter and shouts at me... next thing fate served him a bit of payback by the lights going green and lots of cars comming his way... was to funny, I love when that happens.

This describes most of Bloem - they all ride on the N1! Wink

Shocked It's not allowed up there in Jo'es ? Weird

My tandem partner is ex-Bloem. Semigrated to Joeys 5 or 6 years ago and still yearns for the wild, open N1...

From February we here in Bloem are not allowed to train on the N1 anymore.

But down here it is still the safest place to cycle.

Nope - but I know of another Bloemfonteiner it might be. Maybe with them being kicked off the N1, they're moving up here..

On topic: has anyone noted the percentage of "locals" who ride contra-traffic, i.e. on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic in Jhb? Seems the idea is you can see the car before it hits you...

I commute on my bike now and again, and it's scary having to pull out to let these idiots pass.
