Just a heads up for Gauteng home owners, do not fall for this trap.

 

I had my roof waterproofed and painted by this tjop (Leon Bester), cost me almost a full XTR groupset. I also received a nice 10 year warranty on workmanship, logoed with the Gauteng MBA. Which was the reason I chose him, catchy ad and guarantee. Six months down the line and the paint is coming off and my kitchen is a swimming pool. Attempts to get this guy to fix his unhandywork has been futile. He answers his phone, you can organise him to come out to your place, but he never pitches. This has happened about 5 times now, and I have lost patience and goodwill. Last night when I phoned him to hear his new story, he stated that he has decided that the warranty is not legal, so he does not need to fix anything. I have reported him to the Gauteng MBA and hellopeter, and will try and warn as many people as possible against this scam.

 

He operates from Hartbeespoortdam area if I am not mistaken. I am in the process of getting his home address, then me and my friend JB (not our expert mechanic) will pay him a visit. Bubba normally pisses his pants when JB arrives.

many years ago I had my roof coated by Kenitex, becuase they seemed to be reputable Firstly the sandblasted the galvanising off the corr iron roof sheets. Seocndly they did not clean the sand from the gutters. Spray painted over it and eventually the gutters collapsed. Later the roof started peeling and it transpired Kenitex letted out the work to subcontractors and they did not carry the guarantee. By the the geek who coated the roof was bankrupt and I had to work out to have the roof redone.

I did the work myself later on and fifteen years later the coating is still holding up.

Guys like these operate inside a 'comfort zone'. Their services are priced in such a way that it seems to be a good deal, but the time, money and effort you have to expend on an attorney is normally more than the job was worth. Professional con man. You have to give him back some of his own medicine. I'll make sure that he loses a lot more than I lost.

There is a certain swimming pool builder that operates in my area where I live. He built 6 pools in the area and of those, 5 were of people I worked with. You pay, the hole is dug, the paving is bought. Then "poof" he is gone. He then opens a new business........ and these businesess are all accredited.
