I had explosive spurts once. I think it was from bad seafood. I still can't eat prawns after that.

If you want to improve the power, maybe try to hold them in longer?

There is this gym, I hear that a lot of cyclists go there. Maybe find out how explosive they are, and then possibly emulate them?

8 second sprints on your trainer in 53x16 - 8 second sprint /52 second rest x 5 x 3 minute rest x 8 second sprint /52 second rest x 5 x 3  min rest x 8 second sprint /52 second rest x 5  x  3 min rest.

You get the picture.

I have a great workout that builds power without killing your legs for the week:

40 second at your threshold power / 20 second rest x 5 x 3 min rest, repeat till tired.

I do 3 or 4 of these in one session and it builds power very quickly and you can still walk the next day.

Do this with the above once a week and see the benefits in a matter of 2 weeks, seriously.

Ride at 90% of treshold(high tempo) for 20 minutes but do a hard effort(sprint) for 10sec every 2 minutes.Alternate in and out of saddle!!Thumbs%20Up

Will help you do those hard efforts while riding at a high tempo.

This is not something I highly recommend. There is enough carnage out there without more people spontaneously blowing up.

Pull yourself together man.

On the other hand, there are a number of training programs out there where they tell you how long you need to up your tempo.

If you like, I have a hrad copy on my pc. PM me your e-mail address and I will send it to you.

Betaparamide used to be a lot cheaper :) Especially at 4+ a day...
