Why is an IDT so uncomfortable. After less than 20min using the same bike' date=' shorts, saddle etc my butt is killing me. Is this purely as a result of the "fixed" nature of the system or what?

Any ideas on how to make it more comfortable - a couch is too big to attach Big%20smile

your butt is sore because it actually died of boredom too. I don't know why it would be more uncomfortable-I don't notice any difference personally.

Wheel is lifted up on one of those stand things as well. I thought it was something to do with the lack of movement in the rear triangle and BB that happens on the road.

I believe its something to do with the lack of forward motion and air flow which provides a slight lifting moment reducing pressure where it counts.

Buy yourself Rollers and only train indoors when its really dark or if its raining. For the rest of the year head out and ride outside - for us roadies I MTB more often during the winter.

Rollers got a more realistic feel to it and adds to your leg speed and helps to improve your pedaling.

Lately my hands go "dead" (needles and pins) on the trainer after only a few minutes. Don't know why Confused

Is the front wheel raise or on the ground? Try putting a phone book under the wheel. Otherwise' date=' think of it as a great excuse to get out of the house and ride!

Yes I have the phone book under the wheel and everything else is 100%, set-up, saddle, shoes/cleat-position, good shorts etc

Maybe its just me, I tense up even on the trainer Big%20smile

But I also prefer the road, but my coach has my on my trainer every Friday morning.  He calls it me weekly stress release Wink

Was even thinking about buying Rollers instead.

Nooit bru, rollers are the same story! Reason being that you can't really stand on them (think of the physics involved...) so your butt really takes a beating. Well mine does at least.

Max time for me on the rollers is 45mins before my butt gives in.

Yes you can stand, ride wif no hands (look ma...) its actualy quite easy just need to pluck up the courage to try.

The faster you ride the easier it is... really.. trust me I'm not a spin doctor

I can do both, but it still sucks! Standing on them just doesn't feel right!

I know, doing it at 60km/h is the best! Confused
