I have two places open on my Bicycle Repair and Maintenance course in Cape Town on the weekend of 14 and 15 March 2009.

More information on the course can be had here http://tinyurl.com/bygcrv

It is a comprehensive couse that comes with a set of quality tools, a tool roll and shop apron. You'll walk away with a nicely serviced bike and all the know-how to service it yourself in future, repair things, tune gears, measure wear and, an understanding of how and why components fail.

Workstands and consumables are provided.

See you there!

JB

Damn...if only I knew earlier! When will the next one be?

First weekend in May.

Full course schedule here:

Crow, I'll be interested to know if you had noticed my banner adverts right here on The Hub regarding these courses? I run them more or less permanently with the next available dates?

Is my advert no good? Must I change it?

Johan I think that most people have learnt to 'tune out' the adverts on web sites. I can't recall one advert that I have clicked on or even read in Months. (Other than the one that had the stupid spooky laugh on mouse over and I don't even remember the brand of the advert, just my annoyance at it).

i see your ad - but the wording of "yellow saddle"is a bit weak - cant really make it out at a glance

even the image on the right of the banner - very cluttered

JB, maybe start a thread specific for the course dates, which you bump at specific "days to go" periods, for example a month & 2 weeks before the course.

To everyone struggling with the quality of wheels build for them - I can strongly recommend the wheel building course.  It save exreme frustration and is worth every cent with return on peace of mind!

Thanks for the advice guys and a special thanks to Varkie for the endorsement.

I'll implement some changes to the advert and do the occasional "notice" in Tech Q&A. I have resisted doing it up to now but received some strong hints that my adverts go unnoticed. I'm not clever enough to create funny mouse-overs but maybe some pictures of spanners and bleeding fingers will get the message across as nicely.

Thanks to Jules who initiated my change in attitude toward using editorial space for promotion.

I do lament that half or more of the activity on this forum is For Sale stuff though.
