Hope wheelsets

I'm looking for a durable combination hubs and rims.

 

I'm very happy with the durablility of my XT and XTR hubs on Mavic 817 rims as wheelsets and would like to do the same with Hope hubs.

 

Anyone that can assist or shed some light on what the corresponding Hope hubs would be relative to XT and XTR?

 

Then what other rims are in the market with similar durability to the Mavic 817s that can be teamed up with these hubs?

Hope Pro 2 or 3 Hubs on DT Swiss 4.1 or ZTR Olympics

Hope 2's on DT 4.1 looking at 5500-6 something

Hope 3's are more not sure, ZTR are expensive

I would go with Hope II and ZTR. You probably looking at at least R10k. Just remember the Hope hubs are loud.

Hope Hoops are available on CRC for not too much. A friend recently bought DT 5.1D's on Pro II's for under R3k, and he's really happy. You can get DT 4.1's as well, but he's more of an AM rider so wanted the sturdier rims.

Hope Pro II are disc hubs, Pro III are non disc.

They do build complete wheelsets with Pro III straight pull hubs, but come with DT rims. Hubs aren't available seperately yet.

 

I would LOVE some Pro II's and 819 rims for myself...

 

You still need to buy skewers if you get Hope hubs.

 

Chain Reaction cycles is the way to go if you can get a group buy and free shipping.

Can't compare XT or XTR with Hope Pro II's.... they Hopes are in a different league...

Hope Pro II's are the only hubs that's held up with my friend in Belgiums mud...

Lilo Broke her Hope rear hub, could not be put back together again, got a pair of American Classic front and back for the same price the rear whould have cost, no problem with them since last year, good value for money.

 

I also ride American Classics, had DT Swiss before them, also a great wheel.
