I put in an order for a new Fizik Areone saddle a month ago, as my current Areone is rather well used and suffered a crash recently!<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Every week it is the same story, it is supposed to have been delivered on the Wednesday and when I go 2 collect it on the Thursday it has not arrived. Making a familiar phone call and the same story comes out we will only get it 2u next Wednesday............. a month later and I go 2collect it 2day and yet again nothing and apparently will only be able 2be delivered........... Yep u guessed it, next Wednesday! This is without a doubt the most incompetent and useless service I have ever dealt with!

 

I would hate 2c the repercussions if the manufacturer were 2find out how their product is being handled here, along with the backing of large bike shops that I have, I think they going 2!

 

I think it?s about time that this whole investigation with the price fixing has come along, cos for 2long some of these agencies have been milking the market!

Bottom line.............these okes are making too much money.....they dont give a SH!T about the end user.  I have experienced this a couple of times with other products too.......

My moto now if its in stock I'll buy it....just helps avoid the frustration afterwards.

I dont think they are making to much money, I think it's a common problem with service in Sunny South Africa, basically non existant, and the attitude of if you dont like it lump it, reckon that if they changed there attitude they would then make money, people say the industry is in trouble, maybe they should realize that consumers will support them more if they offered decent service, remember without us they are nothing, but they seem to think it's the other way around, a stupid example!!!!! If I order something from Total Cycling in the UK I get it delivered to my door quicker, and often cheaper than the local shops can.

I don't think the guys are making too much money, I would say the opposite...

 

The fact that there is no stock means they have not ordered enough.

 

Prob haven't got enough cash flow to stock the full colour / model range for the whole country.

 

I think there is a preception that these small (read single brand) importers make a mint, it is not true. See deFeet, Fizik, etc. Just ask Shamus with Crank Brothers. I don't see him driving a GTI! or living in Westcliff.

 

I think Fizik is a bigger brand than the importer can cater for. Too many guys start businesses under capitalised and pay the price of poor cash flow.

 

This is obviously not a reference to Just Fun, J&J, Coolheat etc, I am not sure about their business model, so will refrain from a comment.

Agreed, but how many bike shop owners actually manage their stores themselves dont know of many, think about it when last did Andrew ask if he could be of Assistance, or Fritz for that matter, many employ people who know jack sh*t about bikes except of course that most have two wheels, they dont realize that we are passionate about the sport, so when you have an individual who earns a salary and has no interest, why should they bother with you........My advice buy online you dont have to deal with bad service delivery.

I actually know the importers and must disagree strongly with you on this one as I have never had anything but top service from them.

I was in fritzes store the other day and he asked me if he could help..... he is actually a standup guy and whenever he is instore he always helps if he is not busy with maybe managing his orders and payments......

 

did you ever think that maybe he does stuff that the rest of the guys in the store can not do...... like manage the other 3 shops and stuff going on around him....

 

dont take me wrong... not taking a swipe at you just giving my 2c worth

I know that these agencies dont make huge amounts of cash in the market sence but generally speaking it is the small efforts done that will make your product succeed, and like the guys are saying, its a 'You need me' mentality that is distroying it!

 

Point being the ability 2just get the agency 4a product is way 2 easy in SA and should been more looked at!

Hmmmm so you are the 1 waiting a month for your saddle are you!? So you are saying that what i have said is all made up........ whateva dude!

 

Here is the thing, you know them personaly so u would have a slight bias opinion and wouldn't get General service, knowing them personaly u would phone them 2day and have what you wanted by 2morrow (provided there is stock) you know that is true. So now what makes me any less valued as a paying customer?

Agreed some of them help when they are there, and agreed they are busy people, but dont you think that your staff compliment should buy into your business strategy, If I owned a bike shop I would bend over backwards for a customer, after all they are your future, and no matter how small the spend, keep them happy and the small spenders become the big ones, and a happy customer keeps coming back, happy customers have lots of freinds, they i turn have lots of freinds, see were i'm going with this.........I'ts all about service delivery.

Fowlstart have you been the one calling anthony and chris at the importers for Fizik??? have you checked that your shop is not trying to bull$H!T you???? because a few months ago it was actually the shop's fault that the customer did not get the part and when he came on the hub and told people this at the end both him and the importer looked like real tarts and it was just because of one bike shop

 

 

 

please dont get me wrong but thats just a scenario that i was putting forward have you been the one liasing with the importers or is it the shop manager/owner???
