Merlin Posted February 22, 2007 Share 's up all? Many of the old-school MtB crew will remember the Sweat & Gears MtB playground next to CR Swart dam in Benoni...just down the road from the Bunny Park. It's been years since last I was out there... Does anyone know if this is still open and going? I'd really like to find some nice technical forest-type riding around Jo'burg or so... Any ideas anyone? Cheers, N. TitusTi Posted February 22, 2007 Share ...just down the road from the Bunny Park. Is this code for something? Or was there actually a bunny park?
scotty Posted February 22, 2007 Share Still is a Bunny park. There is a group called Dirty Habits that ride from Woodstock cycles most weekend's out towards Springs, technical as you want to make it. http://www.dirtyhabits.co.za
TNT1 Posted February 22, 2007 Share Is this code for something? Or was there actually a bunny park? Could be a code of sorts though, I've heard that the local whores hang out at the bunny park...
TitusTi Posted February 22, 2007 Share Apparently subtley is no longer prevalent on the hub.

Velouria Posted February 22, 2007 Share ahhh - the bunny park... wasn't a local councilor caught near the bunny park sampling the wares a couple years back??
TNT1 Posted February 22, 2007 Share And once a year there is this "ride for the bunnies" race that starts outside the bunny park... dunno where the proceeds go, maybe some sort of benevolent fund or something
Velouria Posted February 22, 2007 Share Sweat and Gears was closed down ages ago - before the developments, because it was just not safe to go riding there. Riders got mugged etc.
TNT1 Posted February 22, 2007 Share Well, Sweat and Gears the shop still operates, just the rides out in the great african darkness "closed down"
Merlin Posted February 22, 2007 Share Thanks guys. What a pity...S&A, and the Honeydew quarry had some of the best riding in Jo'burg...sadly they both fell prey to F'ing housing developments. I'm not really after club rides as I want to go for a bit of a free ride...exploring the trails, redoing the fun bits, etc. Perhaps Pretoria...Fountains, etc....that area. We'll give it a go. Thanks, N.
