World Cup Numero Uno

 

 

 

Today's

race was a tough one. I had a good start, maybe 11 or 12. Made it

through the first 2 laps with the top 10 right there. Halfway through

the third lap I started to fade and the next few laps sucked. I was

dropping like 5 places per lap and didn't think I could even make it up

the steep climbs anymore. I finally started to feel good again on the

6th and 7th laps. I think I ended up around 22, not sure. There were

about 5 guys within sight on the climb but I didn't have any power to

bridge up to them. 

Big congrats to the Dart for nailing a 3rd

place and riding with the leaders for most of the race. He had a lot of

pressure from the SA public and he nailed it. Susi also had a good

race, right behind the Dart. The crowds here were awesome. People were

cheering for me as Burry and I would have laughed if I wasn't hurting

so bad. 

Tomorrow we're off to the airport and back to the US

and A. An overnight flight to Frankfurt and then I'll be in Cali by 1pm

on Monday. That's going to be a long flight. 

All the SA

people have been awesome. This is a great place to visit and everyone

is really nice. I'm already looking forward to coming back next year

and hopefully improving on my result.

...he didn't mean what he said - he meant to say 'nice butt'!!
