My CPU never reset' date=' hub just started losing signal at intervals, then died completely, would not transmit any signal at all.[/quote']

I'm referring to the problems Marius has described.

Yeah agree with ol brucie boy 100%, not the hub but rather a problem with an electrical short some where caused by water, sweat, birds wee or whatever comes in a liquidy format.

Below is a pic of the sensor where the wire leads in to;

If and when riding in the wet try sealing this as best you can as well as the mount with the pins where the CPU fits on to.

Also make sure you use Silver Oxide batteries and not Lithium/Alkaline.

Thx Bruce, do you know if Grease will also work, I applied a cr@p load to the Hub were it seals and to the CPU / Pins area. I did go ride this morning without problems but it was not raining so who knows. Will also apply some to the area Jason is revering to.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

That?s the one problem to stop the CPU from resetting, will it also help for the Hub to send a constant signal cuz I had both problems eg. CPU reset / switched on and off and the CPU lost signal from the hub for about 30mins on a on off on off basses every min or so.

I have no idea what batteries I?m using Jason, think it?s Energizer 2032 in the CPU and what ever I can find for the HUB.

The signal could be getting lost anywhere between the hub and the cpu, and doesn't necessarily mean that the hub is not transmitting.  If there is a problem with the insulation where water is getting in, then the same problem could be causing the signal to get lost.

Grease is fine, pretty much the same as vaseline.

I don?t know if there is water in the grease I used but after I applied some to the Triangle thingy near the PowerTap?s hub my Calibration went completely haywire . I recalibrated it but it only lasted for a few minutes before it was out again, I?d be doing like 300plus watts just spinning, then zero while doing tempo pace ect, completely f?ed up...<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

After the ride I removed all or as much of the grease ect from all area?s applied, did a 30min spin and all seemed ok. This morning I did another 1h30 ride and it seems to be working but now there is a constant doubt in my mind, am I really doing so and so many watts...
