My shifter for the rear derailleur lost its index click. Can still shift up and down but shifting up is pretty much a gamble whether you shift 1 or 2 at a time.

I found a company who sells the parts and does overhauls but of course is based in the states http://branfordbike.com/page.cfm?pageID=71

This does give me hope that there is someone who can do it locally. Anybody had it done.

I'm in DBN.

Sounds like the twisty ratchety thing has given up the ghost. I'm no expert...but I have had the same thing happen in the past and it was always explained to me as the ratchety thing.

From what I understand its quite easily fixed (I do speak under correction) and there are plenty shops up in JHB that fix them all the time. Rather contact a local (JHB) shop and ask if they can help you. Mail it to them and have it mailed back...I'm sure it can be fixed locally...

Bruce Reyneke cycles in Lynwood Road in Pretoria, fixed / serviced my

pair of Centaur Ergo Levers.  Cost R300.   PM Joss in Slaapstad.    I

know he does it too.

Thanks Guys,

and some advice to DIY

Would like to try changing the G-spring myself but have heard stories of the springs jumping out when releasing the tenion and difficult to reinstall. Also don't want to be without my bike while posting back and forth. Suppose can use overnight delivery but just adds to the cost. Will chat to my local shop first.

Finally am I doing more damage using it "clickless"?

If you do end up having to do it yourself, you'll only need to source a new spring ... then watch the movies:

I remember seeing step by step guides and pictures on how to do it yourself on the campyonly website a while back as well.
