What chain do you use?

Just wondering, bought my first 971 today, so curios if it was worth the extra bucks

I used to go through many chains(XT) untill I decided to try out SRAM. I am hooked. they are the best chains by far even though they are a little pricey

LX and XT is the same chain, XT got a extra coating, not as prone to rust.

If you buy them from CWC they are good value for money.

Oh, you mean mtb chains? Mine says HG on it, whatever that means, and besides, I put new tyres on the motard today, so I feel both very poor, and very exhilarated at the fantastic ride

Alternating 2 chains at the moment: HG 73 & 93.

I have both over the years and dont notice a difference.

Had Deore HG53 to start with, replaced with LX HG73 - equally have noticed no difference, perhaps if I were to weigh the 2 the LX would be fractionally lighter and an HG93 would be equally fractionally lighter than that.

I carry SRAM chain links for the eventual chain break, but neither my Deore or LX have let me down as yet. Deore clocked 3000kms, LX is on 3000kms and long overdue for replacement - hence cassette and crank blades will need to go with the chain...$$$

I have used HG53, 73, 93 as well as XTR chains. Also tried SRAM 951 and 991. I can't really say that any of them are much better than the other. Even the KMC on my training bike runs OK. Sometimes you just get a "dud" chain. My last "dud" was a HG93.

So the last chain I bought was a HG53. Costs less than the others.

I went from XT to LX I see no difference besides saving R200
