My wife has jut started spinning at gym with the goal of getting fit enough to join me on an MTB. The problem is that her 'lady bits' are getting chaffed beyond comfort.

 

When I started cycling my ass got sore but I just muscled on and the pain eventually subsided. This however is not the answer my wife is looking for.

 

So calling all the ladies, what do you do to prevent this?

My one friend has shorts with a chamois as well as one of those gel saddle covers...maybe try that as those saddles really aren't female friendly.

 

At least her own bike she can choose the saddle!!

I think its the lanolin...she must make sure that they are spinning shorts and that they are fitting tight..if too loose they will chaff!

how often does she go, and how long at a time? possibly skip a day or 2 between classws, go run, or play squash, or do something else the other days, and built the 'sitting' up?

Show her how to set up the correct seat position.Too high a seat will cause her hips to rock ,thus causing her lady bits to rub side to side causing chaffing!!!Wink

A good schamy and bepantene for the already chaiffed bits. Also use said cream for nappy rash and cracked nipplesEmbarrassed
