The Creamy Tart served up another fantastic portion of racing and hospitality, it was to be my second, but a dreaded head & throat infection hit me for six 2 days beforeDead. Though it gave me a great opportunity to support my wife and many other riders on the day.

Any how On the 3rd stage just before Sand River I was standing beneath a tree cheering those that went past, along came rider VA312 and without a care in the world threw his empty blue Valpre bottle into the ditch! I whistled at him but he chose to ignore me or maybe he did not hear me, whatever, do we as cyclist really accept this sought of behaviour? I think it is time to name and shame them! what do you think Mr. Saldanha ?

Good idea Pom although you are likely to end up as the bad guy with 50% of the people who read the gripe!

I'm really not interested what that 50% thinks. They also think that littering is cool, when it's actually just a total lack of respect for the environment and others. Name away...

I would honestly agree with the idea of pointing fingers at these people who litter during rides, I notices a lot of that at the Dusi Mfula this weekend, a lot of people would say but there is already litter there so what is the difference. I say the difference is every little bit less litter will make our country side a better place to look at. But then again I also noticed a lot of the riders this weekend did not take the time to look at the views, sights or country side so maybe they dont really care where they riding at all.

I will be the first to put my name up on the forum with an offenders details (race number etc... if I see it happen)

My thoughts exactly...I have named and shamed and got flamed! Lucky I have a thick skin.

Must note a major error though: I dropped a full Super Goo during the Swazi Mvelo this last weekend. Nearly went round to fetch it, but having been lost and had a puncture was worried I would lose too much time. Mea culpa on that one.
