I would like to share something with all my fellow hubbers about what happened to me and Savannah at the Graskop Hillclimb Champs last weekend.

We started of the morning on on a "few" loops around God's window. Savannah had a problem with her gears and the chain kept on dropping, which meant she had to do a loop or to with only a 39/21 to play with. By the end of the stage we had to do some work on the gears before we tackled the Hillclimb up Kowyn's in the afternoon. I took a fat chance and went to the mechanic of the MTN ladies team and asked him if he had 10 minutes to help us. Almost an hour later he fixed her cables, chain and almost everything else one would get when you take your bike in for a service. While he was busy doing that there were 2 MTN pro girls bikes that needed work done, but he first finished Savannah's bike before he went to their bikes. To top it all, he didn't want to except any money for his work and did it with a smile. Sorry I forgot your name, you saved our day and tour and made sure that Savannah won the ladies 30+ cat. You are a true Samaritan in this troubled times. Two thumbs up !!

Ps. Before I forget, thanks to the Cycle Lab Sub Vet, I think she said his race number was 60 or 70, that helped her to get the chain on again. Few guys will stop these days to help a lady, thanks buddy !

When we left the MTN van there was still about 2 hours left before the Hillclimb started. That would have been enough time for him to set their gears and check the brakes smiley9.gif As far as I know the MTN ladies took 1,3 and I think 4th overall. So he/they did their job smiley2.gif

Helpfull MTN Mechanic should be Gary Blem

Ah couldn't be a nicer bloke or better mechanic to work on a bike!

120% one of the most genuine and helpful people I know, some of you may remember him as one of the owners of Future Cycles a few years ago.
