yeah, just take care with the brasso... it can be very abrasive? corrosive? dunno, but if you leave it too long, and burnish too much, it will strip the paint, anodizing, whatever, straight off...

TNT, for what it's worth acid is corrosive. Brasso is abarasive. You only need to put enough on to soften the glue and then wipe it off.

 

I have used brasso for many such applications with no side effects. It is great for getting those big sticky paper price stickers off CD covers.

 

Yeah, it can cause problems if you rub too much. Don't.

I used meth spirits to get that nasty glue stuff off my helmet and frame when I was thick enough to stick the photograph stickers there.

worked well, no paint stripped or anything else I know of.

Did stay far away from the bergies though
