Ok

I need help please nned to have the RD installed tonight as we leave for knysna land tom.

Everything is in place - except when i try click the X7 shifters it is not grabbing the cable to shift the RD.

I threaded the cable through the hole on the side till the knobbie on the got caught in the shifter, threaded all the hoses and then attached it to the RD (sram x9). The RD was in the largest gear at the back.

Can anyone help me with why the gear is not shifting the cable ?

OK - firstly I would suggest undo the cable at the RD then hold the cable and shift the shifter and feel if the cable moves ....

If not then the problem lies at the shifter ......

You must thread the cable through when the shifter is in 9th gear!

Without the cable connected the RD should be in 9th gear, put the chain on your smallest gear.

Shift the shifter to 9.

Ensure BOTH cable adjuster barrels are +-4 clicks from being completely screwed IN.

Thread cable through cable and RD. Ensure the cable outer are snug in all the cable mounts on the frame.

Put cable through the RD and tighten bolt. Ensure cable is tight before you tighten it. A 3rd hand helps here.

RD should work now, but shifting wont be 100. You get that by adjusting it with the cable adjuster barrels

If they are snug now, they wont move when you shift, just makes adjusting now and later easier.

When I mean cable mounts, I'm talking of the thingeys in the frame that hold the outer cables in place. Make sure the cable outer fit snug in Mr Titus.
