Routes in Jhb/ Bedford/Linksfield

What, if any routes can be ridden out this side of town, I'll be up in JHB on business, and even though I am originally from there, I'm struggling to work out a medium 40/50 km ride? Is out to modderfontein an option??

Any help wuold be useful, either road or mtb.

I am also looking for a MTB route in the area; as far as I know there aren?t any out there. Perhaps someone can help? I am trekking every other weekend to Northern Farms, a good 45km away. For a quick ride in my area - anybody ???

I lived in joburg/pta my whole life. You can start of finding a LBS that organise group rides.

 

If not available then download google earth work out a route and organise a group ride yourself. If your alone then dont forget the .38 nice and small. Safety in number always works a treat and then......dont forget to design the route to stop at a few pubs, teazers........er sorry different forum along the way.

THERE ARE GREAT ROUTES AROUN BEDFORD, FISHERS HILL OFF ROAD THEN TOWARDS LINKSFIELD , UNDER THE HIGHWAY ALL THE WAY OUT TO BARBRA ROAD AND BACK SHOULD GIVE YOU 50K

 

THEN THERE ARE RIDES OUT FROM BENONI EITHER TOWARDS HEIDELBURG OR TO PTA

Give Tony Impey Cycles a call, he is in Bedford centre and will be able to help you out with some info on rides etc.

Otherwise tell us when you will be in town, and maybe you can join up with some of us. Im 2 minutes away from Bedford Center, and usually train in the areas you mentioned. If you are really stuck send me a PM.

Fit much riding in anyway but for future it will be good, zaskar I might be in touch

 

I suppose it will have to be a rest period and then probably 'break' cranks when I'm back on bike
