Yeah...sounds like a crank puller job! Sorry - my experience was with the deus cranks where the dust cap thread is too big for a crank puller.  You do get a special little metal piece that will fit inside the spline so you can pull them, but its made by shimano, and shops tend to hang on to them like gold!

Park Tools make an ISIS crank puller. I had one for a few years, but then got rid of all my ISIS cranksets, so i gave it away. Take it to your LBS, im sure they will remove it for you free of charge.

Cool bananas MT, need to give you half your workshop back anyway... (and borrow a crank puller while I'm at it).

Maintenance and beer day tomorrow?

Thanks guys - don't need it to take mine off anymore, wanted to take it off to clean it for the Burger tomorrow, but managed (with a chainring nick to my hand) to do it on the bike.

Droo, can I give you some bucks for the puller, might be cheaper to buy yours than to buy plasters everytime... and toys for the dog to apologize shouting at him...

and supper for the wife after she laughed when I hurt myself...

I am sure you understand smiley4.gif

Cool, I'll leave it with MT. Still free, comes off a stuffed crankset and I have no use for it.

Also, surely your wife should be buying you dinner if she laughed at you?

If the axle is hollow as ISIS, I put an old wheel spindle in cut to length, Leave the opposite bolt in and push against it with a Campag crank extractor.

If you don't have a spindle a length of steel ( door handle spindle ) may fit.
