Hi Guys

Last weekend I finished assembling a Vitus 979. Paint work is original and in VGC except for a small scratch above the bottle cage.

Main groupset is Shimano 600 including wheel hubs laced to Mavic open 4CD's. Brakes are grey anodised SLR calipers and levers. Need to import some new lever hoods! NOS SLR cables used throughout.

Selle San Marco seat stem and Selle Italia Super Turbo seat. Bars and stem RF St Etienne.

What do you think?

Lets see some pictures...

The Vitus was anodised so not easy to repair if scratched.

Very nice.

Thats a massive drop on that bar.

I like the blue.

Open 4CD's prbably the best wheel I have ever owned and ridden on.

Naaaaa, Mavic GP4s, though tubbys, the best wheels I've ever had! On Gipiemme hubs

Think I'm going to have to give my Miyata a clean up and take her for a ride again (currently hanging on display at CWC)

What components? Shimano 600EX?

Streven, lovely Vitus, as I said, I'm looking for a frame, will find one one day.

Who do you order hoods from, just off ebay?

Off eBay. I will have them sent to a friend and then brought into the country in Dec. Still hard at looking for a Master which I hope to find before Dec too.

Thanks for the comments on the Vitus, I will keep a look out for you.

Looking closely at the picture it appears the Colnago has been stuck on to the Delta's. Was the branding not engraved similar to some I have seen on eBay? I will see if I can find an example for you. Still, nice brake set. Can't wait to begin my next project with the Special.

R4000 seems too much. Yeah those look like decals, it should be engraved.

I would say that between R2000 and R2500 would be the price the Delta's would sell for

Eroica bike tour:

I'm sure most of you know about this, just happened again. I've been wanting to do it for a few years, but just never quite got there.

It's always a bloody visa problem!

Anyone ridden it?
