50 cc too big?

By the looks of things I might end up stripping grey Hansom' date=' keeping the parts. You can have the frame then.

I think it'll be too big. You now how short I am smiley9.gif smiley36.gif

But I'll measure my seat height from my s/s and I'll let you know... maybe I could get way with it?

Yes I'm streight thanx for asking.

The frame is also streight but 58cm smiley36.gif, will incl headset and BB

Price? Well there was one on the hub the other day for R2500 that sold quick. This one's paint is okay but not outstanding, so how about R1000?

This ones from my special box. (btw: just learnt to compress!)

Its from my box of dream bikes.

I'm fascinated by the unusual design of the headtube and the staggered DT shifters. I believe the design was regrettably declared illegal for racing.

Yup, Vitus or Alan eg are indeed a little diff and not everybody's cup of tea. But they do have their place on the alu frame evo ladder!

Regarding the Pinarello...

I have heard that the spear shape head tube was too contentious.

I thought there might be some truth to this, because it seems that no-one has really developed this concept any further.

I would like to see this vitus finish built. This is why: if the rear brake cable is so elaboratly woven through the "top"tube how do they finish it nicely between exiting the top tube and eventually connecting to the calliper in this offset height?

I'm busy finishing up my Tommasini with a coversion from 9 speed Chorus to a 7 speed Suntour Superb Pro. Setting click down shifter syem has always driven me to drink!!!!smiley18.gif

Vitus and Alan were pioneers in Alu no doubt at the time when steel was king but I must admit that Cannondale were the first guys in my opinion to get in right with oversize tubing.

I should have been whipped with a cable housing for not buying this one on my last vist to the US in Houston. This was a stop at a typical garage sale on a weekend sightseeing drive, where everything is hauled onto the front lawn and driveway in the middle of suburbia. The lady wanted $50 for this bike!!!!!!

But it was too small for me. and really,...how do you get this stuff home? cos its just a mission to fly with a bike. The frame revealed itself to be like new. No rust, unscratched, the edge of every sticker absolutely perfect.

While I spent 5 min admiring it and taking this pic, a boy (who must have been from the neighbourhood because she knew his name) asked the lady of the house if he could have the bike for $30...and she accepted! I just took 4 or 5 or 6 steps back, totally dumbstruck as he took his prize. I replay this in slomo quite often. I realise that she had done a good thing.  If only you had seen the smile on his face. He rode off with it sitting on the top tube.

damn!!
