Thinking of buying this eddie merckx columbus for R1000. Has shimano exage brakes and 105 components and suntour supebe Pro cranks. Seems to be late '70s or early '80s. What do you guys think?

 

Will I be able to do something with it? In the end I want to ride the bike and not display. Maybe some training or around town.

I really like this frame. Classic !!!

I posted a while back about a box of goodies I found. Still trying to work out a way to purloin it, but took a pic in the meantime…

R1000? I'd be on that like a fat kid on a cupcake.

looks like at least 3 track rear hubs in that pile flowta

 

I can definately see one there, there is also a "normal" freewheel hub.

Tumbleweed, let me know how much you want for a rear track hub

This is how they did Alu in the early eighties. The term rides like a noodle came from this design. Cant believe Alan Van Heerden actually raced one of these:
