SWEET! Thats awesome news about the machete!

Im gonna go there tomo!! See what i can do!!

As for hitting the rock garden, it needs to be bigger your right! If you hit the first rock right you can pretty much launch the whole thing!!!

I looked into the rest of the section on SH2b, but didnt see an obvious line.. am i missing something? Right now im using it as a alternate route, linking back to SH2 Main line which is still cool!

On a side note ive been watching Follow me! So sick! f*cking love it!

Craig: I've only ever ridden flats. Scared shitless just thinking about being clipped in, albeit some days I do wish my feet wouldnt slip (wear 5.10s btw).

If you want to know the difference, just take two world cup riders on the same track under the same conditions: say Sam Hill vs Greg Minnaar. Classic case of a flats only rider vs a rider who mostly rides clippedin. Both world champions, both total shredders of note. Did the shoe matter? ;)

oh, loveme: the machete aint there yet. I bought it sunday, but forgot to leave it up there when I was there sunday afernoon. I will post up once i've left it there. soz man. I normally use the spade side-on to wack stuff. Works awesome, if u connect properly ;) The spade + hoe is at the top of SH3. Walk down the trail toward the new berm (just in front of the first berm I made), then turn to your right. it's about 2 - 3m in under some bark and twigs. IIRC, it's on the right hand side of a tree there somewhere.

as for the rockgarden. totally too small. I found that launch thing on my first run down. popped completely over the thing. I was so bummed. All that sweating and pop! over in a flash :P but at least i see it gave someone a fright cos they dragged their brakes over it  anyways, i did it wrong the first time. proper rockgarden should have spaces between nicely sized rocks. gives the suspension a chance to jolt your noggin :P

Follow Me was pretty damn cool. My fav is the New Zealand bit with Steve "The canadian Chainsaw massacre" Smith, and Gee Atherton. Totally breathtaking riding, and just so damn awesome without music or slow motion. I actually love the sound of a DH machine ripping it up: chainslap, brake squeal, tires drifting...man, pretty close to giving me a boner..rooooooooooarr.. :P

Mechaphilia tendencies aside :D, have you watched The Entree ft Sam hill? Better than follow me, especially if you're a sam hill fan  He has sharp wit, a good sense of humor, but a total animal on a bike. I like the way he thinks. It's good insight into the person that is Sam Hill. It's not totally revealing, but given just how enigmatic Sam Hill is, it's a whole lot more than you normally get.

That section in follow me is my favourite too. The footage from the heli is just awesome.

Must try find "the entree".

Have to say I dont like Sam Hill, hell he is prob the best rider on earth but anyone who can take anything away from Greg must fall and hurt their shoulder :)

Plus he is australian!

my word, next time i stack and hurt my shoulder, i know who to send the medical bill to!! :P

I admire sam because of his skill and his vision. Not taking anything away from Greg, but to be honest, Sam Hill is just so completely different. A good example is the DirtTV 1:04 track. Just check the comments from the DirtTV rep when sam rode the track and smashed the record, vs how Greg struggled badly to get to grips with the same track. I'm not saying that track is the universal and definitive benchmark for rider skill, but it was very interesting to see one just natural find the fastest lines that apparently no one's taken before (according to the DirtTV dude), vs Greg struggling to 'get it', and then finally giving up.

Loveme.DH/FR: u see them clouds? Pity I dont have them drums installed yet. If it rains today, I'll mission up just to get that berm sorted.

Also, what u think about rock armoring the chute into SH2? It's getting chowed pretty badly. Seems that whole descent till just up to the berm is one long braking point for some hehehe ;)

I watched "F1rst" for the first time last week, Sam Hill's race run in Champery gave me goosebumps, going that fast in those conditions is mind blowing.

Capricorn, do you have a link to the DirtTv vid you talking about?

nice stuff Patches.

dont suppose you sent them nitro circus stuff? sent you a pm a while back, but u ignoring me dude :P

woa! totally my bad bro! Life just ran away with me. I always have the DVD in my bag at work, but keep forgetting to go to the PO. Today is the day though... It's wednesday, I'm hungry. Steers has a plan for thigs like that, and there's a postnet by Steers.

Sorry about the non-reply thing too... totally my bad!

Craig: it was two separate vids. I will have to find it. Maybe google DirtTV 1:04 track with sam hill and greg minnaar as criteria. IIRC, when Greg was riding, he was riding with another world cup rider.

Patches: no stress. :)
