Word! Sick bike capricorn! Ive ridden some sections in Signal Hill. Theres some sweet single track on the sea point side, but havent reallty explored...(Apparently its a R500 spot fine) Snuck some nice lines down the Bo Kaap side, but its jeep track, and ive gotto bunny hop every speed bump... but theres a sweet section through the forest where you get to pedal hard! Way fun...

Where do you ride in Signals?

I ride Table mountain Mostly! All the downhills i do are on a hardtail. But i think i can huck it! haha... Well im sure i do, cos every ride ends in a bail! So im pushing it... Todays ride ended in the forest above Herzlias Field, near the Wash houses... Buckled front wheel, broke a spoke, flat tire and a bent seat, and a little blood! Woop it was well worth it!

hey loveme. I would luv to hook up with you on the Table Mtn side of things. Havent ridden there at all as i heard it's more XC than DH.

As for signal hill, I do the various Urban Assault courses. This year's course really ripped up the forest and it was awesome. Short, just technical enough for some thrills, and OMFS was it pedally smiley6.gif

Let me know where and when we can hook up. would luv a sprint partner for signal hill down to bokaap smiley2.gif

DHK: that fork was a huge surprise to me. The few drops and stuff I did prior to running signal hill did not give me a clue at all to the surprise it held in store: super super plush over the harsh stuff. Cornering is super brilliant. I just couldnt believe it. If all double clamp forks are this good, then I've been selling myself short for a long time.

Yes Amped for a ride! But I need to get my bike fixed first!

Best place for downhill on Table Mountain?

Theres a monster trail just above deer park. Start on tafelberg rd, theres a grassy section with a big tree in the middle, and a metal boom between the road and the jeep track. Follow this full throttle, but whatch out! ou dont want to miss the turn off to your left for the technical, rock garden, ruts and dust! If youve Hit the cement section on the jeep track youve gone too far!

After the turnoff you will hit some nice single-ish track that starts off mild and gets more and more hectic! Finally finishes in a long rock garden! Where you meet up with a nother jeep track...

If you arent going to walk up again, follow the track to the right, for some nice slideey turns then out the boom, turn left there and peddle on the flat/slight incline past the picnic area and another boom, then look for a right into a single track/ another rock garden, follow this and take the next left (little drop off)(where i crashed last) and pump it downhill to the finnish in Herzlias Sports ground, If your lucky the gate will be open on your left, keep your speed over the bridge and into the park, then hit a little jump some kids have built out of a gully!

Rest, Rinse and repeat!!!!

I do this on a Hard tail! with 100mm shock when i bought it i thought i was gonna get into XC! YEAH RIGHT!

Id like to hear what your thoughts are if any one gets to do it!!

Gonna post a Google earth image later!!

who here has watched What's Next by Aaron Laroque. It's a 44min full length movie on Dh and DJ. Bloody good stuff, highly recommend it. More in the vein of kranked instead of the documentary style of Clay Porter films.

Awesome soundtrack as well.

More at pinkbike.

edit: the full, free version was hosted on Mpora, but cant find it. I have it though smiley2.gif

edit 2: Found it!. Note: it's just over 270MB in size. My clip is nearly 400MB in size. I remember taking the HD version. Very good quality. Dunno what quality the smaller sized one has.
