It's unlikely to happen in big races where there's a lot of fast male riders.

But what happens if a top lady rider comes to a smaller race and finish in the top 3 overall.

Does she qualify for prize money for her overall (top 3) position, PLUS the prize money for the first lady?

I think she should get both if she manages to finish top 3 overall.

What do you think?

Prize money in which category entered.  The A group can ride a faster time than the Elites but is not able to claim the win because they did not compete directly with them........

When everyone is together....well.....there is another story.......

If it was me, I'd give her ALL the prize money just because she whipped the boys!!  Clap

Depends on what category she enters in but cant take both. [/quote]

Why not?

Prize money should be for a place. You cant have a person taking 2 places no matter what their gender is. Same thing should go for juniors, vets, whatever. You enter your category, you race your category, you get your prize for your category. If you are confident you can place in a certain category then enter and go for it. Don't hedge your bets and see at the end.

I dont know what the real situation is but merely voicing my opinion here. Which by the way is always right.Wink

Yes, that makes sense. But many races have different category prizes + overall prizes for first to 3rd of 5th. We generally assume that the overall prizes will be taken by men... was just wondering...
