Greetings All,

Which would you consider the better seeding ride towards 94.7? (don't have the luxury to do both)

OFM Classic or the Amashova?

Thanks in advance for your response.

How do they do the seeding for the 94.7?

Do they use the National Seeding Index from Cyclelab's site as is?

Do they require the three results to get a seeding?

I have been told that they use your best result as so many people only have one race.

I have worked really hard to improve my ability since my first ever cycle race at last year's 94.7 and get the feeling that I am going to get stuck at the back again as the time in getting results uploaded seems so long.

Just enter and start where ever they place you. Give it your best and cycle through the hordes.

Next year, you will reap the fruit of your effort. smiley2.gif

What about riding the dome2dome ? it will seed u.

If you dont have a history of races,  then it wont matter much where u start, just enjoy the ride!

Yah, I agree.

The first four or five times I rode, I raced around with my head down like a mad man.

Did'nt even enjoy it.!

Last two years I chugged along with my wife, stopped at all the necessary points for bananas, Bar ones, topped up my water bottle, chatted to the folk on the road side, last year I even stopped for a hot dog.

Gonna do the same again this year, seeding means squat to me, maybe I will get a beer with the hot dog this year??

Similar problem, never done 94.7 but have done a lot of MTB races. Just ride it as a time trial and enjoy passing a lot of people. Next year you can still improve your time substantially as you will probably then be seeded.

This from the 94.7 Cycle Challenge website, http://www.cyclechallenge.co.za/importantinfo.asp:

11. SEEDING

Seeding will be as per the Cycling South Africa National Seeding Index. Cyclists must be licensed through their province of domicilium. Unlicenced cyclists will be required to purchase a temporary day licence in order to enter.

Cyclists without a seeding index will be seeded according to their date of entry - the earlier you enter the earlier your start time will be. Only

the top Cycling South Africa licensed cyclists will be allowed to start

in the U16, Junior, U23, Elite and Veteran categories for both men and

women.

Vets categories will be as per UCI categories: 30-34 and 35-39 etc. The sizes of these groups will be limited to the best seeded cyclists per group based on their seeding index.

The U16 and Junior categories will adhere to the requirements of criteria necessary to participate in that category including restricted gears.

Seeding, start groups and start times will be emailed and/or sms?d to

you and will be available from 15 October 2009 on www.highveld.co.za.
