Chrome is normally just a very thin layer on top of the nickel. I say get it sprayed back to original. The decals I bought for my Colnago were made using 3M vinyl. slowtwitch Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Well done TB. I must admit, I wouldn't feel the need to restore her to the original look. Don't feel guilty changing the look a bit. She has seen plenty of abuse and will cherish any new dress you give her (incl the parts kit)

The guy told me its safe to use under clearcoat. A lot of the Italian steel bikes were completely nickel plated prior to the paintwork. Both my Battaglin and Tommasini are like this.
