Wifey and I had an easy ride on the tandem at Saturday's Satellite Challenge.  After crossing Harties we turned left and just ahead was a guy just finishing fixing a puncture.  Right in front of us he takes the old tube and flings it into the bush.  Well done china - I hope you heard my wife's remark - she can be a real b!tch when she gets pissed off.

Guilty as chargedShocked! I threw my sachets on the road @ telkom sat-race. Figured the watering points were already so messy why not just drop sachets there? Won't do it again though(moet die voeltjies redSmile).

SO i guess i'm apologising for the pigs. Clap Maybe that's why they gave away bacon at the end of the race??

Audience/one, I have no hassles if a rider drops his empty sachets at a water station to be cleaned up with the rest of the rubbish. in my opinion, that is a responsible rider.

It's the riders that throw their rubish into the veld in the middle of nowhere, where the cleaup crews don't sweep the route, that make me angry

@ Diesel Donkey - The rider i'm referring to was not in "hot pursuit". We were on a flat strech of road and the bunch was taking it relatively easy. he had absolutely no reason to throw his wrapper away. he didn't even "accidently drop" it. I could see by his whole body language that he intended to throw it onto the road.

Besides, I would like to see you suck on a goo sachets while in hot pursuit...that should look pretty funnyOuch

I always keep my wrappers, get a deposit back.

I roll them up, messy bit inside and stick them in the side of the bottom of shorts. No mess to think of or dirt to pick up.

Rider VA#269 should be admired for putting his empty gel sachets back in his pockets smiley2.gif

Yip - so many VA riders tossing their empty gel sachets!!

VA 269's name is Tijl van de Winkel  of MTN Club 100 - well done on setting such a good example.

Do we name & shame VA234 (I have all the names of that bunch)

On this topic, anyone have suggestions on a way better way of dumping your empty water sachet taken from the water points??

I noticed at the Telkom race that a lot of water sachets get dumped for few 100m's after the water point and someone needs to go along and pick this up.

Should we not stick these into our pockets too?

Put the used ones in a different pocket to the unused ones or buy a top with three pockets instead of the type with one pocket. Confused

Well done Alida! I only done it with 3 to 6th ones :)

After I heard the one guy at the water point telling his counter part something about "see they just through it down".... Got me thinking when I looked at the floor and saw so many there I decided rather to put them in my pocket.
