If you want to take a chance and repair it then PM me - I will put you in touch with a old chap who does specialised welding. Also - the paint job is going to be history!
Johan Bornman Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 That frame is an ex-frame. Lots of people will tell you it can be repaired but any repair will be cosmetic and temporary. Don't let a certain frame painting outfit in Gauteng tell you they can repair it either. They'll mutter something about "contacts at SAA that can heat-treat bla bla bla bla...." In the last 6 months I've seen two such "repaired" frames go to the junk yard after good money was thrown after bad. A cracked frame is a potential killer. I'll leave it up to your imagination what can happen if it breaks off at the wrong time.

As a post that wasn't inserted deep enough it could cause that kind of damage and void a warranty claim completely Personally I would say that frame is a write-off, as it is in the aluminium itself not in the weld usally cracks in welds can be repaired but not that Mecnic2009-10-29 14:07:32

Malkie Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Ive had a claim with a Fuji frame that cracked,importer will tell you that they cover the frame for 3 years even tho the international site says lifetime gaurentee to the original owner. Good luck.
