Before you make the trip like I did, this event has been cancelled, due to "muddy" trails! Now is that not exactly what a mountain bike is for? Confused

A thought... Muddy conditions = MASSIVE wear on bikes and equipment. I wouldn't send a shiny new bike on muddy trails if I could help it.

Imagine everything gets clogged with mud, gears don't shift etc, what impression will that give a prospective buyer.

If you could control the bikes and give every rider a clean bike to start with .....

We were there yesterday - only the Merida and Cannondale guys - The trails were fine - yes, there was a bit of water but nothing more than could be handled easily.  Thanks to the Merida guys - we rode a couple of the bikes on offer - made the trip worth it.

I heard that there was some activity there today .......

I was there for a while. Chatted to the guy from Cannondale... he (and Merida) brought a trailer with a few bikes so that the guys who travelled from afar could at least do some riding. There were maybe 15 bikes in total, nothing in my size though. The guys who did some riding weren't exactly covered in mud, and there were a lot of cars in the parking lot when I left (more than 100), people who just came to do some riding with their own bikes.

Well Jean-Luc from Commencal lend me bike to "test ride" during a 60km race. They sell it as demo unit afterwards anyway.

Thumbs%20Up to Merida and Omnico (and let's not forget Wendel for insisting that they be there) Clap. I enjoyed my 2 hours on their bikes - that Ninety-Six is definitely on my shopping list.LOL

Thumbs%20Down to whoever cancelled the event, and to the manufacturers who decided not to come through.
