That is probably because Polar don't particularly weight intensity in the estimation of calories burnt.  Largely it is a function of time riding, speed travelled and some adjustment for heart rate.

Maybe, except I dont use a polar Wink I'm using a Garmin Forerunner 305. But I've always suspected that calories burnt isnt really measured, but rather calculated... I somehow always thought calories burnt was measured off your heart rate. Obviously not Tongue
