?know a coupla you are into this?came across these pics this morning. 50-foot swells are predicted for the north shore. these were taken yesterday?

sorry, slowtwitch?wonder which capies are heading out there?this from the last line of an ap story which accompanied the pics:

Teams of tow-in surfers _ who use jet watercraft to race into waves too big to paddle _ are flying to Maui from Brazil, South Africa and Australia, The Honolulu Advertiser reported.

these waves may mean "the eddie" will go ahead for the first time in five years! and if waimea's this big, i'd imagine the outer reefs will come into play over the next coupla days.

Naa, don't worry, it keeps the dream alive, esp since I'm no longer racing and will be looking at getting more wet action myself

 

50ft is pretty big though for paddle-in surfing. 30ft was max I thought (or maybe the 50ft is only hitting later and then only the tow-ins will be called to action)
