How difficult is it to change from cable to hydraulics brakes? Anything important to remember?

or is it maybe better (and safer) to ask your LBS to do it?

One thing i noticed is the clamp thingies (do not know the name) which holds the cable into the frame (and helps with the tension for braking) will not support the tubes for the hydraulics - can you drill them bigger to support the tubes?

you can file, not drill, them bigger but then you have to feed the hoses through before you fill the fluid. And when you wan to remove them, you need to take the system apart again. There are plenty of types of hose clamps out there. Some you screw onto existing cable sops and other you attach to the frame with cable ties.

You get a little adapter that goes into that guide and then you attach ur hydrlic hose to it . You need new brake levers as well !

that explains why i have no braking power and my hydraulic fluid keeps leaking out .... Confused

at least the mechanism are oiled inside now LOL

i bought a set of juicy 5's .... levers, calipers, tubes, everything connect already, bleeded .... just need the adapters for the guides  (new word learnt today)

cool thanx - will run to my LBS and ask them.

is it difficult to take the cable brakes etc off and put the new juicy 5's on - it looks simple and straightforward?
