Pedals to be removed: which way?

Damn,

My common sense tell me I need to take the left hand pedal and remove by taking the spanner clockwise.  Is this correct?  I'm stuggling my *&& off to get the pedal moving...

 

Any help this time of night?

LHS Clockwise.

RHS Anti Clock.

This must have been on the hub a 1000 times...

Cracked a crank arm thread like that once - had to have the thing machined out and heli-coiled....

 

Glad you can right - now don't over tighten the new ones...

the way i remember this...

 

insert your allen key/spanner with the handle facing towards the back/rear of the bike and push down

it doesnt really matter which way the crank arm is facing, i find it a lot easier and more stable if the crank arm you are working on is facing down, no need to hold on to it then with the other hand
