NCR - recommend a laptop

I need to buy a new laptop as thieves seem to like my desktops (2 in 2 months). I understand a Core2 Duo processorr is the way to go. Suggestions as to brand and specs will be appreciated. I can spend about R8k (would rather buy SRAM but need it for work).

I've always been very impressed with the Thinkpad range. They're very sturdy and I'm quite heavy on my laptops. Both my brother and father have sub R8000 Thinkpads and they've been happy with theirs.

I'm on my third HP, one died when it got dropped into a pool, and another was re-distributed by some locals. Never had a problem with them, I reckon they the best. I also dual booted with uBuntu on the 2nd with no problems at all.

Also have a HP Pavillion that now migrated to EM. Never had any problems with it. Just large and heavy. Nice screen with though.

If you don't like what he has on that site^ then just speak to him.

Based on experience of a good few 1000 notebooks we have purchased over the last 10 years  I agree 100% with this statement.

You wont go wrong buying a Dell.
